Vusi Mbulali, a portrait artist hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa, finds his artistic inspiration rooted in the vibrant tapestry of nature. His journey, marked by an innate creative spirit nurtured by a supportive family, began to flourish at the tender age of 12 when his artistic talent was recognized by his principal. This pivotal moment propelled Mbulali towards a career dedicated to capturing the essence of individuals, particularly South African heroes like Nelson Mandela, Oliver Tambo, and Steve Biko, through his evocative portraits. His artistic philosophy, grounded in the concept of the "Knew Kid," blends fresh perspectives with ancient knowledge, creating a unique visual language.

Mbulali's artistic journey began with humble beginnings, drawing school charts, posters, and book illustrations.
